Welcome to the WEB page of the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling of the University of Ostrava in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Our institute is one of few research institutes in the world working in the field of Soft Computing. We have significantly contributed to the theory and developed various software tools that offer novel methods and that can be applied in various areas: control, decision-making, data analysis, analysis of signals, solving differential equations, and many others.
1. 1st CZECH-LATVIAN SEMINAR
IRAFM will the 1st Czech-Latvian Seminar on Advanced Methods in Soft Computing in Trojanovice (November 19-22, 2008). For abstracts of the talks, see Research report No. 134
2. ISCAMI'09
IRAFM together with the Dept. Mathematics, Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava take over the tradition of ISCAM/SCAM conferences and extend it with informatics and applications. Venue will alter every year between Bratislava to keep the original nature and tradition of the ISCAM conference and an unspecified locality situated in mountains close to Ostrava to provide participants with manifold surroundings. ISCAM'09 is to be organized in a village Malenovice in beskydy mountains near Ostrava. For more details we refer to the following link.
